FOOD

So its been a while!
First, Food.
This last weekend, my wonderful BF took me to a Mexican Cucina in DC called OMAYEL. It was awesome. Fresh food, Guacamole prepared at your table. Chipoltle salsa was wonderful.
We had Goat and Fish tacos (not together...but tasty), scallops, amazing black beans. The Plantain fritters were lacking a little. It may have been a texture issue or it may have been the sauce, though professed sweet, it was actually bitter and overpowering. But that was my only substantial complaint. The interior was airy and bright. It was awesome.

Art. I'm collaging. I'm really excited as i'll be putting a few pieces in a friend's show after thanksgiving!

Reading and writing. I've been revisiting Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Series. what amazing books. Its a bold statement to make but probably my favorite dark fantasy series.

I'm currently watching Vampire Diaries... boo how stupid.

Food.

So i'm thinking i might actually turn this into a food blog, or an everything Natasha likes Blog. So it will be a blog mostly about gormandizing.

Most noteworthy today i should say was my lunch at Crisp and Juicy Chicken here in Arlington. I don't even actually know if this is legal, for me to be reporting about food...but i'm going to until informed otherwise. My favorite thing about C&J is the moisture in their meat. I have rarely found roasted chicken so tasty and as their name suggests juicy. Even the white meat. So often breasts and wings are terribly dry. Also the Yuca is to die for. If you've never tried Yuca, i highly recommend it. Their fried plantains are also high on my list of favorite things.

Currently reading :
Will and Me
Daughter of the Blood, Anne Bishop (again)

I've recently started reading dark fantasy again. I suppose it goes hand in hand with writing. Since that tends to be my preferred genre next to poetry. Story ideas are happening slowly...i'm mostly writing on my breaks at work. They are few and far between, but i am making slow progress. I'm also reading some books about the craft of writing. They're keeping the juices flowing.

Zune Tunes:
Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle and After Midnight Project
Spiced up with some Avett Brothers
