Something spiffy

While perusing over at the DC Source Festival blog i stumbled upon this....its in relation to a dance piece Collapsing the Silence at DANCE PLACE this weekend. I like these questions a lot. I find myself asking them when i work too.

How does performance right now in Washington, DC relate to what other artists are doing across the world? Why are we all doing what we are doing? How can we affect total presence in our audience? To forget about all immediate tasks, troubles, frustrations and enjoy some art... What is the connection between the individual and the world? How does the point of view change with circumstance and experience? So what is the difference between internal and external? How does repetition / saturation effect us internally? For example: the over saturation of the news media, information overload. The difference between the original action and the memory of the action.
There are even clips of the dance.

BOOKS

I never quite get over having my weekend start when everyone else goes back to work. But a weekend is a weekend and I certainly will take it. And it was a constructive few days. Got a lot done and some relaxing and movie watching too.

But! I am most excited because i just got my new Kindle. I broke mine earlier on the road and what a JOY it is to have a functioning one again. I have been downloading all SORTS of free books and what the next two books on my list to actually purchase are these:

I started reading this on the road with one of my friends. Really excited to finish it.

I was listening to NPR the other day and they did an interview with Suzanne Marre and these letters  sounded great.

Lazy Bones

What a lazy bones i've been!
Months and months have gone by and nothing happening here. At least post wise. These last few months have been insane. Running all over the country with the American Shakespeare Center, right now starting up work with Empty Chair again for the summer. And not taking near enough pictures.
I have however been journaling a ton. I've picked up some important life skills, like dribbling a basketball and the preliminaries of a chess game etc. etc.
But it feels good to be back. And good to be writing.
Hope you've all been well :-)
